1.04 Unfinished Business

Cassie is having breakfast with her dad and son when her dad brings up her dead husband and her grief and her moving on too fast. He wonders if she is in love with Cody which Cassie answers with "maybe". At the office, Cassie and Jenny strategize and make a plan to put a tracker on Legarski. They run into him outside the Sheriff's station and he is less than thrilled about it. Back at the office, Cassie, Denise and Jenny go through a list of truckers and find someone who fits the profile. Jenny decides to go undercover and Cassie goes with her as a backup which Denise is not a fan of but they go anyway. Back at home, Cassie is remembering happy times with Cody while washing the dishes. She is lost in thought which her dad notices and asks her if she is okay. They talk about her mothers death and how he managed to move on and go on before Cassie has to leave to meet up with Jenny. On their way to the truck stop, Cassie and Jenny make sure they are on the same page. Cassie watches as Jenny investigates their suspect and things get a bit out of hand when he pulls out a gun and Cassie has to intervene. They end up at the Sheriff's station with the Sheriff pissed at them for interfering with the investigation. He lets the go with a warning. Denise picks them up and tells them about where Legarski has been going, so Cassie and Jenny decide to check it out. They drive to the farm in the middle of nowhere, where the girls are held captive and while looking around Cassie feels like they are close but they leave when there is nothing there because the girls are trapped underground.
